Is the family ready for the much-awaited Hervey Bay Seafood Festival? Imagine the variety of seafood coming your way on August 14th, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Scrumptious! Of course, a festival can never be complete without some relaxing music and entertainment. Here are some of the main acts gracing the Main Stage on Sunday!
Debuting at the 2016 Seafood Festival is 8 Ball Aitkin - direct from Nashville Tennessee - Australian singer, songwriter and slide guitarist. 8 Ball plays country, blues, swamp and Americana music, and he is notable for his fusion of country music with the genres of Australian blues and roots music. Another artist you can look forward to is Wal Neilson. The winner of The Voice of Urban Country competition, Wal has his parents to thank for his love of country music.
If you are in for a musical storm, then don’t miss out on The Rain. This country rock band has been appearing at Festivals and venues, including The Gympie Music Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Noosa Country Music Festival, The Urban Country Music Festival, Mackay Sugar Festival, among other popular concert stages. Meanwhile, Hervey Bay based duo The Bobkatz, comprised of Rob Mackay and Garry Kohler, are making a name for themselves as their song “Reelin One In” lands the No. 1 spot on the National Country Music Singles Charts.
Hear their hits among other songs played live! Tickets to the festival cost $5 for adults while attendees below 18 enter for free. All paying festival goers shall receive tickets in the lucky gate draw. Courtesy Haigh’s Jewellers of Pialba, the prize for this year is the exquisite white gold pendant and chain - a set with one beautiful South Sea cultured pearl, six Queensland sapphires and 16 diamonds - with a retail replacement value of $5,800.00. So stick around and wait for the winner to be announced on the Main Stage at 3:30 PM.
Throughout the grounds at the Seafood Festival, you will find an enormous range of dishes to try from a range of seafood stands that serve all sorts of prawn, calamari, scallop cobs, oysters, etc.
