Not far from our Hervey Bay resort accommodation is Hervey Bay’s famous esplanade, also known as Charlton Esplanade, offering 17 km of shops, restaurants, cafes, and scenic waterfront views.
For those that love to dine out and try new food, Hervey Bay’s esplanade offers a large choice of fast food outlets, restaurants, cafes, and food vendors to choose from. You’ll find everything from fish and chips to restaurants serving international menus, as well as relaxing al fresco cafes where you can sit back and take in the atmosphere.
The esplanade’s lengthy 17 km provides the perfect stroll for new tourists, and it’s also a popular spot amongst joggers and cyclists. Bikes can be rented from numerous locations, and the views you’ll see along the esplanade as well as over the beach and bay provide an enjoyable treat.
Hervey Bay’s beach doesn’t run for the full length of the esplanade, but it’s still proves to be a popular location to unwind amongst locals and tourists. It’s well worth visiting for a stroll or picnic, and you’ll enjoy a superb view of Urangan Pier from the beach, one of Australia’s longest piers that stretches almost 1 km into the ocean.
On the western side of the esplanade make sure to stop by the Hervey Bay Historical Village and Museum, the best place to discover Hervey Bay’s rich history. There’s also WetSide Water Park, a fantastic treat for kids offering hundreds of spouts and jets as well as fountains, water slides, pools, and more. On a hot day, WetSide Water Park is one of the best places to stop whilst exploring the esplanade! And for those that love to get adventurous in the water, Hervey Bay’s esplanade offers several places where jet-skis and paddle boards are available for hire.
Make sure to explore all of Hervey Bay’s esplanade during your stay at Boat Harbour Resort!
